HOW TO REPLACE BATTERY DIY, TOYOTA KEY FOB WITH RED BUTTON

KEY FOB WITH RED BUTTON, REPLACE BATTERY DIY, TOYOTA

Toyota key fobs with a red button are often found on new models of Toyota vehicles. These key fobs have a small red button on the front. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to replace the battery in a Toyota key fob with a red button:

  1. Determine the type of battery needed. Before you begin, you’ll need to determine the type of battery needed for your Toyota key fob. The battery type can usually be found in the owner’s manual or on the back of the key fob itself. Typically, Toyota key fobs require a CR2032 battery.
  2. Remove the key from the key fob. If your key fob has a key, you’ll need to remove it from the key fob before you can access the battery compartment.
  3. Open the battery compartment. Use a physical key (watch video below) to open the battery compartment on the back of the key fob. Insert the physical key into the tinny slot and twist it to open the compartment.
  4. Remove the old battery. Use your fingers or a physical key to remove the old battery from the battery compartment. Be careful not to damage the key fob or the battery compartment.
  5. Insert the new battery. Place the new battery into the battery compartment with the positive side facing up. Press the battery down firmly to ensure a secure connection.
  6. Close the battery compartment. Once the new battery is in place, use your fingers to close the battery compartment. Make sure the compartment is securely closed to avoid losing the battery or damaging the key fob.
  7. Test the key fob. Test the key fob by pressing any button to see if it works. If the key fob doesn’t work, double-check that the battery is inserted correctly and that the battery compartment is securely closed.
