The new Leapmotor C10 has recently hit the UK market — and it’s making waves as one of the most interesting mid‑size electric SUVs available right now. If you’re wondering what it offers, how much it costs, how it drives, or even what colours you can pick, this long‑read is for you. What is the Leapmotor C10 — basic facts

  • The C10 is a mid‑size / D‑segment SUV. Its shell is built using a cell‑to‑chassis architecture, meaning the battery cells are integrated into the structure of the vehicle.
  • It is imported into the UK as part of Leapmotor’s push into Europe and Britain.
  • UK order books opened in 2025: the C10 is offered alongside the smaller city‑EV from Leapmotor, but the C10 is the brand’s larger SUV offering.

Price, models, what you get

  • The starting price for the C10 in the UK — at launch — is £36,500 for the standard all‑electric model.
  • There are at least two powertrain variants planned:
    • EV (full electric): 69.9 kWh battery, with a 160 kW electric motor.
    • REEV (range‑extender / hybrid-ish): uses a 28.4 kWh battery plus a 1,499 cc petrol engine to extend range.
  • Performance / range (for EV version): 160 kW (≈ 218 PS), 320 Nm torque, with a WLTP range of around 263 miles.
  • Standard spec includes 20‑inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable heated front seats, dual‑zone automatic air‑conditioning, powered tailgate, LED lighting, and electrically operated heated/folding exterior mirrors.
  • Inside, you get modern touches: a digital driver display, a large infotainment screen, panoramic glass roof, 360‑degree surround‑view camera, and a 12‑speaker sound system.

  • There is also a small additional storage “frunk” (front storage) of ~32–34 litres in the EV version — useful for cables or small items.

Overall, cabin and passenger space is impressive, especially rear-seat legroom, while boot capacity is “respectable though not class‑leading.”

At launch in the UK, the C10 is offered in five colours:

  • Flexible interior & usable space: generous boot (with seats down) and multiple storage nooks make it practical for families or weekend trips.

What Could Be Better — Limitations

  • Boot size is only “average” — 435 litres upright is smaller than some competitors.
  • Brand is young — long-term reliability unknown.
  • Small design compromises: some compartments, like the glovebox, are smaller than expected.
  • Unknown resale value / service history — unclear how the C10 will hold value or how easy servicing will be.
  • Interior feel not premium — good materials, but not luxury SUV level.

My Thoughts

If you’re looking for a roomy, well-equipped electric SUV on a moderate budget, the C10 is a compelling choice in 2025. The fact that even the base model offers many niceties makes it strong value.

If you regularly carry large loads, the boot may feel limiting. Long-term reliability, resale value, and brand support are unknowns to consider.
